Transmissivity Estimates by Specific Capacity Data of Some Fractured Italian Carbonate Aquifers

چکیده
Transmissivity estimates can be obtained by different approaches, mainly analytical and empirical. The application of methods requires checking non-linear well losses due to turbulence vertical flow related partial penetration. empirical approach relates transmissivity values specific capacity data measured in the same well. interpretation available pumping tests highlights porous media solutions’ applicability most step-drawdown curves analyzed. Double or triple porosity approaches are more appropriate only for wells located close fault systems. In this work, a new relationship estimate some Italian carbonate aquifers is proposed. comparison with other relationships literature similar worldwide confirms validity general equation aquifers, helping spatial characterization aquifer scarce regions. Nonetheless, use equations kind coefficients allows good results on our set data. Results improve knowledge fractured–karst also including from Central Italy.

Redeveloping Mature Fractured Carbonate Reservoirs
Naturally fractured carbonate reservoirs (NFCRs) comprise the majority of the oil and gas reservoirs around the Persian Gulf. Many of these reservoirs have a long history of exploitation, but vast amounts of oil remain in place. A major redevelopment process for light oil based NFRs will likely be the use of horizontal wells combined with gravity drainage at constant pressure based on voidage...
متن کاملParameters that control the cleanup of fractured permeable aquifers.
This study develops a modeling approach for simulating and evaluating entrapped light nonaqueous-phase liquid (light NAPL-LNAPL) dissolution and transport of the solute in a fractured permeable aquifer (FPA). The term FPA refers to an aquifer made of porous blocks of high permeability that embed fractures. The fracture network is part of the domain characterized by high permeability and negligi...
متن کاملSeismic Wave Propagation in Fractured Carbonate Rock
Laboratory experiments were performed on cubic samples of Austin Chalk to investigate the effect of fabric-induced anisotropy on the interpretation of fracture specific stiffness. The experimental results found that the fabric-induced layering complicates the interpretation of fracture specific stiffness. Seismic measurements from a sample with small layers (i.e., spacing and thickness) show th...
متن کاملPotential contaminant pathways from hydraulically fractured shale to aquifers.
Hydraulic fracturing of deep shale beds to develop natural gas has caused concern regarding the potential for various forms of water pollution. Two potential pathways-advective transport through bulk media and preferential flow through fractures-could allow the transport of contaminants from the fractured shale to aquifers. There is substantial geologic evidence that natural vertical flow drive...
